Beautiful views of the Olympic Park and London. One of Europe’s largest urban shopping centres just outside the main entrance. All the luxuries you’d expect from a modern city stay, combined with the comforts of home. These all go some way to describing the Staybridge Suites London Stratford.
Location-wise this hotel cannot be faulted. With excellent transport links into London via the Stratford underground station just a short walk away and accessibility from further afield via the Stratford (London) train station, getting out and about while staying at Staybridge really couldn’t be easier. On entering the guests enter an elevator to access the main reception, something we’ve never encountered before, but something we quite liked. When checking-in guests get given a keycard to access their suite, something not out of the ordinary among modern hotel chains. These keycards also play a part in the elevator, allowing access to your floor ensuring the only access to your floor is by guests and staff. This added to the private secure feeling of the building, and something we absolutely loved.
As for the building itself, rooms are spacious and furnished to a high spec, with features more akin to a high-spec home than a hotel room. Within the suites can be found features such as dishwashers and ovens, Apple TV, and complimentary wireless internet throughout. As if the beds weren’t comfortable enough, guests also have access to a ‘pillow menu’, so you’re sure to get that perfect night’s sleep. One of the things that really struck us on our night at Staybridge was just how at-home we felt once in the room. Many hotel rooms feel like a pit-stop in our busy lives, our Staybridge room managed to not only make us feel at home, but make us not want to leave!
Complimentary breakfast is served each morning on floor 12 past the reception desk. Here guests get to start the day with breathtaking views over the Olympic Park, across to Canary Wharf, the O2, and the Shard. Breakfast includes something for everyone, from a traditional full-English breakfast, to cereals and pastries. The food couldn’t be faulted, and the serve-yourself bean-to-cup coffee was a nice touch to start the day.If guests do require a snack or a bite to eat in their rooms, the hotel has a 24-hour Pantry located besides the reception desk. Here guests can pick-up groceries for their kitchens in the Suites. We didn’t take advantage of this service due to staying just one night, but on passing we saw they stocked a great selection and can imagine for anyone staying for a number of days this would be a great facility to the hotel.
