Children’s BAFTAs 2013

Last night British children’s TV stars came together to celebrate the hard work of their fellow colleagues on the red carpet in Park Lane. The 2013 children’s BAFTAs , hosted this year by formula 1 presenter Jake Humphrey, was awash with celebrities including Sir David Attenborough, Henry Winkler and the beautiful Myleene Klass to name a few and our reporters were there to catch it all.

We stopped Jake before he took to the stage to present the stars with their coveted BAFTA heads https://redcarpetbiz.com/2013/11/25/jake-humphrey-presents-the-2013-childrens-baftas-in-london/

Long time TV presenter Barney Harwood told us that the Children’s BAFTAs meant it him.

“Well I think the Children’s BAFTAs is a great opportunity to tell people how great they are, it’s a very difficult job sometimes, you know it can look a bit show biz from the outside, but if you think about the amount of work that goes into it, you can be working for six days a week and the seventh day is a travel day, you don’t really get much time to yourself and production companies work hard, they have limits and restrictions, so it’s nice to have one particularly part of the year where we tell them all that it’s worth it for all that work they put in, all the effort is absolutely worth it and it’s direct feedback from the kids as well, you know you can’t get better feedback than the audience themselves and I think the BAFTAs is a great opportunity to tell everybody that what they’re doing is worth it.”

Britain’s Got Talent stars Jack Carroll and Pudsey the dancing dog also made an appearance. Pudsey, it seems, has been very busy since being on the show https://redcarpetbiz.com/2013/11/25/ashley-and-pudsey-make-an-appearance-at-the-childrens-baftas/ and Jack Carroll had us in stitches when we grabbed him for a quick catch up https://redcarpetbiz.com/2013/11/25/jack-carroll-talks-tea-bags/

Having said that both stated that Simon Cowell hasn’t stayed in touch but it seems it certainly hasn’t stopped them from pursuing what they do best, entertaining us! Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, wearing a beautiful lace and feathered mini dress talked with Red Carpet Biz about her favourite film and more https://redcarpetbiz.com/2013/11/25/pussycat-doll-ashley-roberts-talks-her-favourite-films-the-jungle-and-more/

Looking radiant in pink, Myleene chose to wear a dress from her own range for Littlewoods, which you can get your hands on for only £49. When she arrived she came over and told us “I see your tweets” which we love! The star later tweeted her a selfie of her with Henry Winkler at the event and thanked Red Carpet Biz for a “fab” interview. Anytime Myleene! TV veteran Henry Winkler had this to say on the night .

Henry, how’re you?
“So good.”

What do the Children’s BAFTAs mean to you personally?
“I love children’s television, this celebrates children’s television. I’m so proud that I was asked to be here, to be part of this and hopefully next year we’ll be here because of our new television show on the CBBC. I’ve written 18 novels with my partner, they’re called ‘Hank Zipser, the world’s greatest underachiever’, they are the story of my life, having trouble in English, Spelling, Maths, History, Science, but I was great at lunch!”

Do you watch anything in particular on Children’s TV, I know Simon Cowell particularly enjoys cartoons, is that something you’re into as well?
“Well I like Simon Cowell, so there you go.”

However , Sir David Attenborough was the real star of the show, a television legend and all round gentleman, Red Carpet Biz got a few moments to talk with the man himself https://redcarpetbiz.com/2013/11/25/interview-with-king-of-the-jungle-sir-david-attenborough/
