RCB Music can report that tonight Lady Gaga announced via her fan-site littlemonsters.com that the remaining few weeks of The Born This Way Ball Tour will be cancelled due to an injury she obtained as a result of a demanding tour schedule. The announcement follows a series of tweets from Gaga who revealed she had been hiding the injury for a while and was found to be suffering from Synovitis, a condition causing severe joint swelling and pain, causing her to originally cancel just a few of the scheduled shows after she found she had trouble walking. Unfortunately, it appears that tonight, after further medical attention, pop’s avant-garde princess will require surgery and possibly months to recover- making the continuation of her world tour impossible. The announcement is below:
“For immediate release. Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled. After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal. Refunds for the cancelled performances will be available at point of purchase starting Feb 14, 2013.”
This will undoubtedly break the hearts of the thousands of Little Monsters who have been waiting months to see her and many have taken to twitter already to express their devastation at the terrible news, but the overall reaction was worry for the star’s health. #PrayForGaga and #GetWellSoonGaga have both trended worldwide already. It’s not the first time Gaga has pushed herself too hard, as grueling tour schedules have reportedly seen her hospitalised in the past.
Here at RCB Music we want to send Gaga our get well wishes. Make sure you tweet us your thoughts! @RCB_Music
